Quincy Herbal Slimmers is the brainchild of Dr. (Mrs.) Quincy Sumbo Ayodele.
Worried about the fat-related health issues of Nigerians, and relying on her proficiency in the use of herbs; which she learnt from her grandfather while growing up, she resigned her banking job and established Quincy Herbal Slimmers over a decade ago. She is the Managing Director and Chief Operating officer of the herbal clinic.
The organization has continued to be the toast of many Nigerians who hitherto had fat-related health issues but had their cases effectively managed.
PROFILE - DR. (MRS.) QUINCY SUMBO AYODELE (MD/CEO)
Julianah Olasumbo Quincy Ayodele, the Medical Director of Quincy Herbal Slimmers Health Centre is an outstanding achiever whose exemplary lifestyle is worthy of emulation.
A visionary leader who believes in self-actualisation, Quincy pioneered herbal slimming in Nigeria when it was most fashionable to travel abroad for the treatment of obesity and its related diseases.
Quincy can be described as a child of circumstance. When she was born some decades ago to Chief Amos Oluwole Sodimu, in Olorunshogo village near Abeokuta , Ogun State there were no indications that the little pale-looking baby would someday become the darling of the family and the nation.
No one in the Sodimu household ever believed that the pretty “mermaid” could live beyond infancy. In fact everyone thought she would not survive the harsh environment as a result of her sickly condition.
At birth, she was left in the care of her late paternal grandmother Mabel Osunmi Sodimu. When the family migrated to Europe , she was left with her grandmother. That singular act by the parent paved the way for her future career. The elderly lady who was adept at the use of herbs battled to keep Quincy alive. She continually administered herbs on her until she became strong enough to attend school. Quincy ’s early exposure to herbs made an impressionable impact in her life.
Quincy attended African Church Primary School , Yambi Village , Abeokuta . From there she proceeded to Comprehensive High School , Ayetoro (Up Compro). She also attended Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta where she studied Secretarial Administration. Just before the final year examination, she was admitted to Pitman’s Central College , London , where she completed her Higher Diploma in Secretarial Administration.
On her return to Nigeria , Quincy was employed by Societe Generale Bank as a Secretary. Through sheer determination and hardwork, she rose to the position of Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of the bank.
After over 12 years of meritorious service in the bank, she resigned her appointment to go into private business. At the time she left the bank, she was not sure of what line of business to establish. Without much capital, she went into donought (popularly known as puff-puff) making, along Awolowo Road , Ikoyi .
This shrewd businesswoman graduated from puff making into herbal slimming, and not once did she allow lack of capital to deter her from realizing her vision of establishing a business of her own.
PROFFESIONAL TRAINING
No sooner had she established Quincy Herbal Slimmers than she felt the need for a professional training, thus she enrolled at the Nigerian College of Natural Medicine, a Subsidiary of Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Victoria Island, where she graduated with Diploma in natural medicine flying colours with flying colours.
She also studied Naturopathy in the United States . She has equally attended several congresses in China , Ghana etc. in order to sharpen her professional skill.

Quincy Olasumbo Ayodele is a woman who has the milk of human kindness flowing in her large heart. This perhaps explains why she established Self-Employed Women Association of Nigeria (SEWAN) to help women realize their dreams of self-employment. She is also the founder of Herbal Slimmers and Weight Loss Association of Nigeria, an umbrella organization for weight managers.
She is also the proud mother of Maria & Marita – the initiators of Students Against Destructive Decisions – Nigeria Chapter.
As the pioneer herbal slimmer, Quincy is the life Matron of the Elewe-Omo Association of Nigeria – an umbrella body for herb-sellers across the country.
A philanthropist extraordinaire, Quincy recently invested a lot of money to better the lot of the victims of the January 27 bomb blast. Incidentally, that was also her birthday.
Her ultimate goal in life is to help the less privileged women and children in our society to reconstruct their lives so as to make the world a better place for all.
Quincy is a devout Christian and a firm believer in the power of prayers, happily married to Engr. John Oladipo Ayodele, a General Manager with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and ECOWAS Energy Observatory Manager in Cotonou . He is the love of her life, her pillar of support at all times after the creator, God. The union is blessed with four children. |
